Types of Public Properties We Serve

Crown Paving supports public and civic properties with asphalt, concrete, striping, ADA, drainage, and maintenance needs across the Southeast.

  • City and county roadways
  • Municipal and civic parking lots
  • Courthouses, libraries and administrative buildings
  • Parks, greenways and recreation facilities
  • Public works yards and fleet facilities
  • Bus terminals and transit facilities
  • Public school campuses and bus loops

What Does Public Sector Paving Ask For That Private Work Does Not?

Documented compliance, and a scope somebody else can check. Public work is specified, inspected and paid against the specification, which is why Crown Paving builds all materials to meet the relevant DOT specifications at a minimum, and will contract a third-party testing agent or work alongside one the agency has already appointed. Accessibility is not a finishing item either: ramps, detectable warning surfaces and accessible routes are ADA scope from the estimate onward.

Can You Work Around a Live Public Site?

Yes, and it is usually the constraint that shapes the schedule. A courthouse, a school and a transit yard each have hours nobody can move, so the work is phased so a portion of the site stays open throughout, with night and weekend scheduling where phasing alone is not enough. School-zone markings and bus loops are typically summer work for the same reason. See line striping and pavement markings.
