Flexibility That Fights Cracks

Asphalt resists cracking because it flexes: it expands and contracts with temperature changes rather than fracturing under them. Concrete, by contrast, can crack under pressure or shifting ground. That flexibility is what lets asphalt absorb stress from vehicles and environmental factors without breaking apart.
