Wheel Stops and Traffic Control, Amazon Distribution Center, Charlotte NC

A distribution yard is a traffic system before it is a parking lot. Tractors and trailers need defined routes, dock approaches have to be squared up so a driver can back to a door without guessing, fire lanes have to stay clear and legible, and wheel stops have to sit where a trailer's landing gear will actually find them.
That is the work here: wheel stops set, and the yard marked out for traffic control across the truck court and the dock apron, including the fire lane markings.
Markings in a yard take punishment that a customer car park never sees. Trailer tyres scrub the same arcs every day, and paint under a turning axle wears out long before paint on a straight run. Layout that reads clearly from a tractor cab, where the sightline is high and frequently over a shoulder, is worth more here than layout that looks tidy from above.
